Covering the Bride and performing in the Chorus of Cambridge Chamber Ensemble’s upcoming production of Gian Carlo Menotti’s mysterious and enigmatic opera Labyrinth, in a fully staged production at the Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center in East Cambridge.

A bride and groom on their honeymoon find themselves lost in a hotel and cannot find their key with their room number on it. They meet an array of people but no one can help them find their room or their way.

The American Prize in Voice: Opera Division, 2024 (First Place Winner)

The American Prize in Vocal Performance—Friedrich and Virginia Schorr Memorial Award honors the memory of the greatest Wagnerian baritone of his age, Friedrich Schorr, who commanded the operatic stage between the world wars, and his wife, Virginia Schorr, who taught studio voice at the Manhattan School of Music and the Hartt School of Music for nearly fifty years. The Prize recognizes and rewards the best performances by classically trained vocalists in America, based on submitted recordings.

On September 12, 2024, Kate was named the American Prize winner.

The enchantress Alcina has a terrible dating habit. She seduces unsuspecting men and transforms them into wild animals once she grows tired of them. When Alcina bewitches Ruggiero, he ditches his betrothed, Bradamante. Bradamante is not about to let the sorceress steal her fiancé. With the help of her guardian and a magical ring, Bradamante disguises herself as a man and travels to Alcina’s mystical island to rescue Ruggiero. Will true love triumph?

17th-century Accompanied Solo Song with Ellen Hargis, Marie-Nathalie Lacoursière, Paul O’Dette, and Stephen Stubbs

The solo song class is especially geared towards vocalists and keyboard players or lutenists who work together regularly. However, independent singers may request accompaniment. Aspects of singing, accompaniment, and movement will be addressed in the class. The harpsichord will be tuned to A-415.

Kate will sing Purcell’s “Hark! The ech’ing air” from The Fairy Queen.
